Scripps Ranch Softball is excited to announce an extension of the rec seasin with our 2020 Summer Camps! We are excited for the opportunity to get the girls back on the field and playing softball. While we cannot yet play games, we are thankful to at least get out, get the girls together and practice some softball skills.
We will be following the Game On San Diego protocols in order to keep our girls and coaches as safe as possible. These protocols are listed below and we ask that you please print, sign and bring this document on the first day of camp. Your daughter will not be able to participate unless we have a signed sheet from a parent.
Below please see the list of protocols (again, please print, sign and bring this on day 1).
- Parents and players must follow the strict safety guidelines and parents must remain off the field and follow the social distancing.
- If in the parking lot, must follow the social distancing/stay in their car.
- Players are encourage to wear face mask but not required during their camp activities
- Players bring their own water bottle
- Players to bring their own bat, helmet and glove
- Player bring their own hand sanitizer (use before, middle and after activities)
- Players to sanitize their own equipment before and after the program
- No hugs or high fives allowed
- Players will be organized in groups of 12 or less and will not interact with other groups.
- This group of 12 or less will always be the same at each of camp days.
- Each group will be social distancing with other groups. Within groups of 12 or less, we will strive to social distance all players.
- Players’ bag will be in a designated area (6 feet apart from one another).
- Players and coaches must be checked for temperature
- Coaches will wear a mask and check their temperature before entering the facility
- No scrimmaging (1 hour and 15 minutes’ sessions to allow for groups transition on and off the field). Everyone must be on time to the field and off the field.
- When warming up/stretching stay 6 feet apart
- Pick up and drop off designated area
Last thing - drop and pick up protocol:
Sycamore Canyon Drop-Off and Pick-Up
For everyone’s well-being and safety, please follow all signage and directions while driving in the parking lot areas. Please read and follow these parking lot procedures for Drop-off and Pick-up of your player(s).
DROP-OFF PROCEDURE
- Pull into the Sycamore Canyon Park parking lot and make the first right hand turn. Please make a single file line of cars. Be patient - especially the first day of camp.
- Once you have turned into the parking lot and made the RIGHT hand turn, drive down the aisle to the end of the parking lot, TURN LEFT and drive back toward the entrance in the other aisle of the parking lot and follow signs to the drop-off zone located near the restrooms by the front field.
- Please do not stop to drop players off until you are at the main drop off area (near the playground and the grass in front of the playground). PLEASE DO NOT DROP-OFF YOUR PLAYER(S) IN ANY OTHER AREA. The flow of traffic moves through the parking lot to the designated drop-off zone.
- Once stopped in the drop-off zone, players may exit your car WITH MASK ON and walk directly to their camp group meeting area (on the grass area in front of the playground).
- Please remind your player to follow social distancing and keep their masks on until they arrive at their designated camp field and are directed where to place their bat bags or backpacks.
- Parents should not be in the drop-off zone or enter the field area. The Game On protocol does not allow for parents to congregate in the parking lot or by the fields. For the younger girls, if parents really want to stay, we ask that you walk along the sidewalk around the fields and keep in motion so as not to be stopped and talking. Please adhere to safe social distancing during your activity.
PICK-UP PROCEDURE
- Pull into the Sycamore Canyon Park parking lot and make the first right hand turn. Please make a single file line of cars. Be patient - especially the first day of camp.
- Once you have turned into the parking lot and made the RIGHT hand turn, drive down the aisle to the end of the parking lot, TURN LEFT and drive back toward the entrance in the other aisle of the parking lot and follow signs to the drop-off zone located near the restrooms by the front field. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE YOUR PLAYER WALK TOWARDS DROP-OFF WITHOUT A COACH OR BOARD MEMBER. PLAYERS MUST REMAIN IN PICK-UP AREA UNTIL YOU ARRIVE IN YOUR CAR.
- Please remind your player(s) that they wear their masks from the field until they are back in your car. Please do not mingle with other parents/players while picking up your player(s) or linger anywhere near where the players are waiting.
- Thank you for your patience going through our modified drop-off and pickup procedures and for helping keep our players safe.
